Burmese Teak Parquet

Considered the highest grade of timber there is for flooring, the Burmese Teak Parquet ages gracefully over time, and is use extensively in many Singaporean homes.

Burmese Teak Parquet is durable, and can withstand wear and tear easily. Due to its unique multi-tone colour, it also adds stunning aesthetics to your project. Lastly, Burmese Teak Parquet is can be easily maintained, meaning less maintenance costs down the road.

Appearance

Fresh Burmese Teak is golden yellow, while a seasoned, exposed Burmese Teak is deep brown. Generally, the grain of the Burmese Teak is straight with streaks of a darker shade although interlocked grains are occasional. The texture of the teak is coarse and uneven, with a moderate natural sheen. The natural oil found in this wood features a faint but distinct aroma that smells earthy and leathery when freshly milled.

Commonly used in

Homes, retail stores with heavy footfall, and projects that need a "different" look.

Naturally resistant to rot, insects and other forms of decay, Indonesian Teak is as durable as they come. That's why this wood is constantly vying with Burmese Teak Parquet for the title of the 'King of the Hardwoods'.

Lighter in shade then Burmese Teak Parquet, with alternating tones of wood that give it a grainy, sophisticated look.

Walnut

Walnut is one of the most unique hardwood flooring options there are. Distinctive in nature, walnut wood colours range from light sapwood to brown heartwood. Although Walnut is a softer domestic species of hardwood flooring, it's natural colours tend to hide dents. This means that maintaining a Walnut floor in the long run is easy and requires little effort.

Walnut flooring is highly durable, and good at hiding dents and stains, since it comes naturally in a rich colour tone. The colour of a walnut styled floor is almost impossible to replicate by other wood types.

Beautiful rich brown tones, natural colours, hard, heavy, and stiff. Dense, strong, and good shock resistance.

Walnut
Maple

Maple hardwood flooring is unique, as it can take on so many colours and styles. The minimal maple grain is popular for customers who do not like the 'busy' look of Oak, and want a quieter type of wood. Since natural maple wood is quite light, maple has one of the largest available colour ranges.

Engineered oak is engineered flooring made from oak, and features an attractive and versatile flooring option. Engineered oak flooring, like any other quality engineered flooring product is made up of layers of ply which are bonded together to form a solid and highly stable core board — even more so than a standard oak board.

Engineered Oak is a good alternative for the real thing, because not only it looks like the real deal, it's relatively stable, and does not affect your floor due to expansion and contraction. In addition, you can re-sand and re-finish your Engineered Oak board several times across its lifetime.

Engineered Oak
Chengal

Well known as the 'outdoor wood' locally, Chengal wood is most sought after solid hardwood in Singapore and other tropical countries, due to its sturdiness, durability and resistance against termites, and its ability to withstand tropical weather conditions.

Information

Because of its high stability and durability, Chengal is most often used to deck swimming pool walkways, balconies, and outdoor areas.

Appearance

Light yellow-brown with a distinct green tinge. When exposed to sunlight, chengal darkens to dark purple-brown/red.

Floor decking (outdoors), including balconies, walkways, and swimming pool walkways.

Balau

Native to Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, Balau is a high density hardwood used mainly for heavy construction and projects that require tough wood.

Information

Compared to wood like Chengal, Balau wood is considered more pleasant and striking to look at. However, unlike Chengal, Balau wood is not a durable wood, as it is not decay resistant, and might attract insects.

Appearance

The heartwood of balau is yellow to brown, which is distinct from the paler sapwood. Its moderately fine and even texture presents an interlocked grain, which produces a stripe figure on the radial surface. Balau is also susceptible to pinhole borer damage.
